Wanderhold is a solo tabletop RPG engine powered by a complex series of oracle systems, with narrative stitched together by AI. It runs structured narrative campaigns across different settings and worlds (like sci-fi space opera, a gritty western, mysterious arctic horror, and the age of sail and exploration) with real dice mechanics, persistent campaign state, and no group required.

There is no prior experience required. The game will walk you through what you need to know while you play your first mission. The engine handles all rules. You will describe what your character does at the end of each scene by either selecting from three options or writing your own action and the scaffold framework of your story uses AI to generate scene outcomes.

Wanderhold runs in any modern web browser, on desktop and mobile. No app installation required. Safari on iOS, Chrome on Android, and all major desktop browsers are supported.

Your campaigns are preserved. If you downgrade from Saga to Wanderer with more than one campaign, you choose which stays active. The others are archived, not deleted, and can be restored instantly if you upgrade again.

Yes! Wanderhold carries your full campaign state between sessions: completed missions, the state of your ship or surroundings, crew injuries, unresolved conflicts, and your character's choices. Each new scene is written with full knowledge of what came before.

Wanderhold uses a simplified version of a 2d20 dice system derived from different RPG mechanics. You roll two d20s against your character's stats. Your resource pool builds on successes and can be spent to create advantage; meanwhile risk rises on failures and drives story complications and challenges.

A single scene takes roughly 2–5 minutes. A full mission (15 scenes) runs 30–45 minutes. You can pick up and play whenever, and stop between scenes. Your campaign saves automatically and picks up exactly where you left off.

Four worlds are live: Stellar Odyssey (space opera), The Territories (frontier western), Erebus Station (arctic horror), and Wind & Plunder (age of pirates and sail). Each has its own oracle tables, structure, characters, designs, imagery, and narrative tone, but it all runs on the same engine.

We collect your email address (for account login), campaign state (to save your progress), and anonymized usage events (to improve the product). We also save various preferences you can choose to set within your profile. We do not sell your data. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.

Campaign data is stored in a secure database with row-level security. Only your account can read your campaigns. We do not expose campaign content to third parties. Your story is yours.
